Prisma Teknik A/B are
manufacturers of deflection indicators. It is necessary, and important,
to regularly measure crankshaft alignment in large diesel engines. In
the past, engineers have used a clock-dial indicator gauge. This method
was time consuming, often inaccurate and unpleasant. These circumstances
lead to irregular checks which could cause expensive, major breakdowns.
Now these checks can be done quickly and safely using the Deflection
Indicator DI-4.
The DI-4 consists of
a transducer with various extension bars and a battery operated digital
instrument. It is stored in a strong wooden case for safe keeping.

Deflection Indicator DI-4 (crankshaft deflection
analyser)
- Large measuring range from +1,999mm to -1,999mm
for deflection makes it possible to move the transducer from
cylinder to cylinder without mechanical adjustment.
- Extension bars made of Invar alloy with minimal
expansion, much less than steel. Optional bars can be ordered
if needed.
- Battery operated - 150 hours of service on
a set of batteries.
- Easy zero balancing by push button will cover
+0,500mm to -0,500mm transducer offset.
- LED Back light function.
- Automatic switch-off after 2 hours eliminating
the risk of draining batteries.
- An arrow indicates low battery but allows time
to finish the measurement.

The Deflection Indicator
DI-4C is the latest "simple to use" Prisma Teknik microprocessor
controlled crankshaft deflection indicator, with additional cylinder
liner ovality measurement facility. The microprocessor enables measurement
data storage both internally or the downloading to PC files. Produce
numerical and graphical evidence for historical comparisons. Program
disks are supplied with each instrument.

The Ovality Kit for Cylinder
Liner measurement from 180mm < 600mm bore for use with Deflection
Indicator DI-4C, is assembled from a series of lightweight tubes to
form a framework which supports the DI-4C transducer within the liner.
